The Information Technology Era

The world is on the verge of a revolution that will change the conventional ideas about the economy, markets, finance and credit. The changes will be caused by the increase in technology companies. It is necessary to actively invest in the IT-company to capitalize on their domination of the future.

In the world formed a new cluster of companies that, having a high financial capabilities, a strong and promising business, unlimited monopoly in their respective segments and ambitious leaders who are able to literally change the world. What is probably dreamed of Steve Jobs – is more than the iPhone in every pocket or a computer in every home.

At a time when more and more wealth is a) public (internet, cellular communications, programming), b) intangible (content and software, communications, electronic money), no one, except for the leaders of IT-segment, there is no chance to preserve the advantages which they enjoyed in the pre-computer era.

Victim 1: Government.

If so, will the changes last?

What will become of the fiscal functions of the state?

The basic conclusion is that the role of IT-companies underestimated: government, society and the stock markets. While the Revolution, as a result of which they have come to rule the world, goes on before our eyes.

Can participate in the process (eg, buying shares or making their own resources and programs), to stand aside, angrily reject the new trends, believing in the old good value, try to counteract the IT-companies, brandishing a club prohibitive laws and conventions SOPA.

But we are already there in a number of fields; Nanotechnology is coming of age, progressing from the research labs to consumer products; the technology holds key to new developments in technology, communications, engineering, medicines, computers, green energy and many more areas; the secret lies in manipulating the matter at the molecular or atomic level- just a billionth of a meter.

Scientific Definition:

Nanotechnology is a collective term for a wide range of diverse technologies, techniques and processes that involve manipulation of matter at the smallest scale; range from 1 to 100 nano meters or, one billionth of a meter.Nanotechnology, involves engineering at the atomic or molecular level.

(microtechnology on the other hand deal with technology or processes; a millionth of a meter!)

Why and what we need to know about, Nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is positioned to transcend conventional research boundaries between physics, chemistry, biology mathematics, information technology and engineering.

The leading fields of current research involves commercially viable sectors; nanobio, nanomaterial, surfaces, electronics, Information technology and instrumentation. The most popular, lucrative and marketable segment being Nanomaterial- predominately involving apparel / fashion, medical fabrics and sports/leisure industry. But, not far behind is the consumer products companies: the CP multinationals have taken a lead and introduced Nano molecules in products like anti-bacterial antiperspirants /deodorants containing silver nanoparticles.

Nanotechnology has been an ‘active’ technology in the textiles and fabrics manufacturing industry for some time now. In fact the textile industry has taken an innovative lead and have incorporated the new technology and techniques in their processes. In percentage terms, 90% of the technology in use has been by the textile/fabrics industry alone. The production and marketing have been driven by the lucrative sectors, like the Apparel/Fashion textiles, medical fabrics and sports/outdoor textiles. The percentage share by each sector has been estimated, as follows: Apparel/fashion/sports- 37%, Interior fabrics -33% and technical textiles – 30%.

Nanotechnology and Energy independence:

Energy and Fuel technologies: The most anticipated research is being done in Green energy technologies and battery cell technology. Automobiles in the future, may be running on electricity alone, and will be equipped with smart processes to generate power on board; the current research is directed towards energy creation, storage and transmission technologies.

Benefits of Technology

The mind of technology is breeding grounds for new inventions, while the benefits with technology serve to make life so much more interesting than, say a hundred years ago. I have to admit sometimes I wonder if it’s more enjoyable.

What would we do in today’s society without the benefits that technology provides? A year or so ago I stopped at a yard sale. Among the various things for sale, there were a few science fiction books a man was selling, claiming he was selling them for his son.

As I was paying for the books a statement made by the man at first angered me. Then a feeling of pity replaced my rising anger. Obviously, this man had little tact and was no salesman. Mostly I believe I felt sorriest for his son.

He said he wondered what kind of mind would read such trash. One thing for sure, if we all had such closed minds like this man’s, we would still be in the horse and buggy days. Like the man said, none are as blind as he that refuses to see.

The state of imagination, combined with a hunger to explore, has sent men to the depth of the seas, and then raised him to the height of the stars. An ability to imagine something combined with the hunger to turn that “Idea” into a reality this is what drives the science of technology.

Technology can be a double-edged sword, with the convenience and ease of life that they help provide. As in most things, you have to take the good with the bad. Unfortunately, intelligence and imagination do not run only to those with good intentions.

The mind of the thief that would steal from you, as well as the vicious malcontents that design malware to do harm, these to take advantage of technology and turn it to the detriment of you and your property.

As a matter of fact the benefits of technology are all around us, from waking in the morning, to making a phone call, driving your car, or logging on to your computer. I can find few things where technology does not benefit in one means or another.

Even life has been extended due to the benefits of medical science and technology. The breakthroughs in medical equipment and technique alone in the last fifty years surpass those of a thousand preceding years.

As in the way of things, one man throws the ball as far as he can, then others pick it up and run with it as far as they can, then passing it on to others, who do the same until the goal is achieved. To that end, I say thank God for dreamers.

High-Tech Eco Friendly Products

Eco-friendly products are often conceived of as being less technological alternatives and, while its true that many traditional methods of doing our daily chores can use less energy, there are many eco friendly innovations that are at the cutting edge of technology.

One of the most exciting innovations has been to extract energy from water.This is a technology that is still in its infancy and at the moment water power can only generate enough energy for water powered clocks and other low energy items. But if the potential of the technology follows the same advances as solar and other sustainable energy sources then water power may one day power far more devices, gadgets and appliances.

Friendly Electrical Appliances – Green Technology

There is a lot of focus on saving the environment and manufacturers of various products are now using green technology to preserve the environment. For consumers, there is even an added advantage to using the eco-friendly appliances. They are designed to use less energy which means that the electricity bills are lower when you use them. When you are buying household appliances, look for those that have an “Energy Saving Recommended” mark. Those appliances that have an A rating will save you the greatest amount of energy. Apart from saving on energy, these appliances will save water. Manufacturing companies also save on the raw materials that are used to produce these products if they are recyclable.

A washing machine is one of the appliances that use a lot of energy in the home. Choose a machine that is A-rated and has a 40C wash to save on electricity. A washing machine that is front-loading saves more energy compared to a top-loading one.

Refrigerators that are eco-friendly should be rated A+ or higher. The refrigerants that are used in the foaming agents that help to insulate and those in the circuit used in refrigerating should only have an ozone depleting potential of zero. The potential for global warming in these parts should not be more than 15. After the end of the lifecycle of the appliance, the manufacturer should take it back for recycling. Select a refrigerator that has a top and bottom instead of a side by side one. Avoid using ice makers, defrosters and heaters as they use a lot of electricity.

All the information that is necessary to determine how eco-friendly the appliance is should be clearly shown on it. When it comes to these products, even the material that is used to package them should be made of 80% recyclable material.

A majority of homes use dishwashers and having the wrong one can cost you twice the amount of electricity you should be paying. An energy saving dishwasher uses less water, produces less noise, has free take -back to allow recycling of water and does not use flame retardants that are harmful. Look for one that has a booster heater.

A hybrid solar oven is a better choice compared to electricity one since it heats up to about 400 degrees without any need for electricity. It also comes with an electricity backup for the times when there is no solar power available.

The size of the appliance that you buy will also determine how much energy will be used. Buy the appropriate size depending on the needs you have. The amount of energy that is consumed by an appliance is measured using Watts and not the voltage. This means that an appliance with low voltage will still use more energy. When you leave appliances on stand-by, they use about a quarter of the energy used to run them. It is advisable to switch of appliances and even plug them off when they are not in use.
